Hello! I'm Brandon :)
I'm a cybersecurity analyst, photographer, cyclist, transit nerd, amateur radio operator, and occasional builder of overly specific data projects.
By day, I investigate cybersecurity incidents and spend a lot of time working with logs, data and automation. When I'm not doing that, you'll probably find me riding a bike, taking photos, playing with radios, volunteering with animals, or looking at transportation data.
That last one turned into a few projects of its own. I built the CTA Reliability and Metra Reliability Trackers to track how closely Chicago-area rail service matched what was scheduled. That eventually expanded to Washington, DC with the WMATA Reliability Tracker. Given the improvement of data reporting by each respective agency, and overall improvements in daily operations I have started to wind down the collection and publication of the data, ultimately wrapping up by the end of the year.
I'm especially interested in the places where technology, transportation, and the outdoors overlap. This site is where I share some of the projects and ideas that come out of that.
